Another problem is that it is often not clear where which data is available, and the formal process of data transfer is also a challenge.

In order to achieve an improvement here and enable all healthcare facilities to transfer data, we are currently working on a software product to support processes for the provision of health data, for example for research projects, as part of the HealthDMP project funded by the Hessian Ministry for Digitalization and Innovation. One focus here is also taking into account the current political developments regarding the Hospital Future Act (Krankenhauszukunftsgesetz) and the associated funding conditions.

ProSkive enables researchers or applicants in general to apply for (clinical) data in a simple way. Applicants are constantly informed about changes to their projects and the application process and approval status can be viewed at any time. All steps from project application to project completion are mapped in a user-friendly and transparent manner. ProSkive uses a role-based system that allows it to be adapted to individual process flows. This simplifies project management for data providers, data controllers and data protection officers alike. The software is available as open source and is used at many research data locations in Germany.

The configuration of workflows enables the software to be adapted to individual processes. A particular focus of ProSkive is on the digital mapping of data application and governance processes. The platform supports (clinical) research by simplifying and accelerating the submission, processing and approval of applications. This is achieved by bringing together all stakeholders involved in the above-mentioned processes on the platform.

The data integration platform (DIP) enables the access-secured, versioned storage, processing and data protection-compliant transfer of medical research data. It is relevant for the provision of data, the storage of research results and the archiving of completed research projects.

As a universal data repository, the DIP offers data providers and data recipients a central location where all documents, data and results of a research project can be managed together. A finely granular, individually configurable roles and rights concept ensures that access to research data, its processing and duplication can be strictly controlled.

In addition, the DIP can be expanded at runtime with installable modules. For example, data exploration and analysis can be carried out directly within the platform. These modules can also be adapted to individual requirements and developed in a targeted manner.

In combination, contract management (via Proskive) and data delivery and archiving (in the DIP) can be clearly linked within one platform. The linking of both tools makes it possible to keep track of the current status of a project at all times and to handle all steps from application to completion and archiving of the project within one software solution.

In everyday clinical practice, a large amount of data is collected on a daily basis, but it is often not possible to exchange this data due to the different formats used at the various locations.
